Hello everyone,
We’re firmly into the next phase of Fabulous Femininities so I thought I’d share some behind the scenes images with you all.
We’ve held two workshops with participants in Doncaster and in Leeds where we’ve discussed safe-spaces and inclusivity in burlesque and cabaret, for performers, promoters, and audience members, and been sharing updates on these via our Instagram (along with reading recommendations, upcoming screenings of Fabulous Femininities and more!).
We’ve been joined in our workshops by amazing film makers Slate and Mortar (who you can see in action in one of the pics) and by Buttercrumble who are making live drawings of the discussions (more about these later!).
We’ve also been talking to industry partners and people involved in the night time industry to share what we’re doing and get them involved in our work from day one. One of the things that really attracted me to this project was the potential of it to make direct, real world change for people in my local area and it’s really exciting to see what these conversations are already resulting in. There are exciting times ahead! I’ll keep you posted!
